He is invisible, indestructible
He has no body and no face,
He can’t be found somewhere else
He is the prison and I’m in his cage of destruction.
He hates me and wants my fall beside,
He is nowhere but within me inside….

Life is crazy and it’s more crazier when it is full of problems and a bit presence of happiness with some sparkles of fun. To make our daily life more spicy, there arrive our hatred character or the villain of our life-story i.e our enemy. So, enemy are the one who could never see us happy or doing great in our life and who always wish for our destruction.

Generally, when we think about this hatred character’s name ‘enemy’, we imagine a person whom we never liked and we always have a cup of odd thoughts regarding them. Surely, its never possible for us to be nice to our enemies. Never !. But to discuss about the fact, its the tale of stupid person. Stupid because he/she couldn’t understand their real enemy of their life. We spent our whole livelihood blaming and pointing others to have our enemies and we’ve always sharpen our eyes and were always ready to give a damn straight punch to them.

Talking about this matter, are those person whom we are calling as our enemies are really our enemies?

To look for the real answer of this question; there are numerous thoughts of peoples and books.

One of the famous American Author, (Steven Pressfield) had some thoughts on our enemies. According to him, our enemies are;

Resistance ( i.e. fear, self-doubt, addiction, procrastination, distraction, timidity, ego, narcission, self-loathing, perfectionism, etc.)

Rational thoughts.

Friends and family ( only if, they pursue wrong and negative environment.)

The enemy is our chattering brain, which if we give it so much as a nanosecond and will start producing excuses, alibis, clear/ transparent self-justifications, and a million reasons why can’t/ shouldn’t/ won’t do, what we know, we need to do.

In fact, The Enemy is inside us.

The most religious book of Hindus ( The Bhagawad Gita ) also identifies our real enemies as the internal forces, that can disrupt our peace, wisdom and spiritual growth. These are primarily desires, anger and the  uncontrolled mind of ours.

Chapter 3, Verse 37: The Supreme Lord said: It is lust alone, which is born of contact with the mode of passion, and later transformed into anger. Know this as the sinful, all-devouring enemy in the world.  (काम एष क्रोध एष रजोगुणसमुद्भवः । महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम् ॥)

Chapter 6, Verse 6: The Self is the friend of the self for him who has conquered himself by the Self, but to the unconquered self, the Self stands in the position of an enemy like the (external) foe. (बन्धुरात्मात्मनस्तस्य येनात्मैवात्मना जितः । अनात्मनस्तु शत्रुत्वे वर्तेतात्मैव शत्रुवत् ॥) Writer’s thoughts

We are gifted with enormous talents and other extraordinary creativities. So, obviously we shouldn’t let it go on wrong path. The only one to control all these factors is our brain: The master of all. Our mind has got the ability to be determined and stay on the self-made principles. Therefore, we should learn to keep on control to our mind. If it gets easy to overcome the thoughts then, we’ll be free from these forces of our enemies. There is no any shortcuts for this as we must train ourselves to be destined to our only aim and should concentrate on our own well-being rather than puking knowledge to others. Always remember, there is no any person who can be our enemy. If there is any then it is within ourself.

“Nothing can destroy iron, but it’s own rust can, similarly, nothing or none can break us but our own mind can..”
